Molly is golly-sure that she knows how to find the perfect pony. She’s been planning her whole life for this. She’s even made a list! When Grampy Blair offers a muddy, scruffy pony for her to try that doesn’t match her list at all, Molly isn’t so sure. The pony doesn’t even have a name!
To help make up her mind, Molly and the pony set off on a trail ride where adventure, a new friendship, and maybe even a perfect new name await.

"A sweet, simple, enjoyable tale... fun to read out loud."
- Kirkus
On a personal note:
This picture book is a promise fulfilled to my children, who asked me to write something I'd also be willing to read to them, a project of my heart, and a testament to the incredible people I have come to call family in the eight years since moving to Oregon.
To name a few: My writing group, who fell in love with Molly and helped me polish every word. Sarah, who connected me to the brilliant local artist who brought this book to life. Heather, who truly champions the dreams of others. And Blair, who is the inspiration for Grampy Blair in this book, an honorary “Grampy” to my children in real life, and one of the kindest, most genuine people that I have ever met.

The longer version of how this thriller writer decided to write a picture book is described in a blog post. And yes, another Golly Molly book is already in the works!
